Er, no, that's not the way my chart looks...

Mine has a Primary Virtue and a Secondary Virtue on it. None of this active or passive stuff.

Primary
Zeal Mercy Vision
Zeal Avenger Defender Judge
Secondary Mercy Martyr Innocent Redeemer
Vision (Wayward)(Hermit) Visionary

Or, perhaps, even going your way, it would not be passive to active. Try putting in clandestine to overt.

And, of course, passivity indicates that you wait for the monster to act first. Redeemers do not, and cannot, act in such a manner and expect to survive.

Unless, of course, you're using a different definition of passive than I'm used to.

Regardless, I think that passive is the wrong terminology. Everything is active, just not in a "kicking in doors and taking names" kind of way.

: :
: : : As for the passivity, I stand by it. While Redeemers are certainly capable of actively seeking monsters to save, just as Avengers are capable of waiting for serendipity to select their next target, the greater proportion of them will not. Again, this is not a statement about the relative strengths (or weaknesses) of the various creeds, merely a statement about their preferred style of executing the Mission.

: : Because, of course, it's easy to gain the trust of a vicious predator. Supernatural creatures confide in people all the time. All you have to do is lie there and look inviting.

: : No, actually, that's how you get yourself killed.

: ? Passive does not necessarily mean easy; nor have I ever said otherwise. Likewise, I've never disputed the difficulties or strengths needed to redeem a monster. It's the difference between trapper and hunter, the difference between keeping a 500-pound bar from falling on you, or lifting a 500-pound bar off the ground, nothing more. It's *not* a measure of difficulty, or a measure of strength. I really wish people would stop inferring more, because I certainly don't mean to imply more, and I certainly don't recall saying any more.

: If it makes matters clearer, it's passive vs active in the same sense as the following chart :

:  MercyVisionZeal
: PassiveInnocentHermitDefender
: toRedeemerVisionaryJudge
: ActiveMartyrWaywardAvenger
